Introducing solids is a lot of fun, messy and rough. Our little one experienced quite a bit of constipation, and adding prunes into her daily eating pattern helped giver her some relief.

I bought a small jar of natural prunes with no other ingredients added from our local Fresh Market.

Put them in a saucepan with enough water to cover.

Bring water to a boil. Simmer for about 10 minutes. This softens the prunes.

Drain the water.

Puree prunes with breastmilk, formula or water until they reach the smooth, thinned out consistency.

Enjoy 1-2 tbs at a time.

I like to freeze my baby food in ice cube trays. Then pop them out into zip lock baggies and keep in the freezer. She either eats them frozen in her mesh Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder, thawed in the fridge one at a time, or microwaved for 20 seconds (making sure it is appropriate temperature) and feeding with a spoon.

I use a Vitamix for making all of her food.
