It is a vicious cycle, isn’t it!?

Have you gotten into this cycle yet? I know that this cycle does not happen over night, and at first healthy living doesn’t always “feel good,” (I mean who really wants to wake up earlier in the morning to get their workout in)? Not many people. But healthy, successful people do it because it works, it is the only time they can MAKE, and it gives them more time to spend with family, friends, at work and doing other productive activities. It really sucks at first turning down a big ole’ doughnut or pizza and beer night, but once you start seeing your weight shredding, your energy lifting, your mood shifting, you’ll love staying in this “vicious” cycle of healthy living!!

The “eat better” phase of this cycle is where a lot of people struggle in the long run. I believe food should taste good AND provide nourishment to our bodies! I don’t have hours upon hours to spend in the kitchen making tons of meals, and I know you don’t either! So with fall approaching us quickly, this slow cooker pasta sauce is something you can use to save time, money, and energy!

This recipe is extremely inexpensive. Lentils are an amazing source of protein and iron and for less than a dollar (at most places) you can buy a 1 lb bag which will serve you for multiple meals. Being healthy does NOT have to be expensive, you just need to look outside your comfort zone, try some new (cheap) ingredients, and be willing to experiment with different foods!

I am usually pretty proud of how little I can spend at the grocery store, while still buying nutritious, quality foods for the both my husband and I!
